Music Bio
Lee Rice has been playing flutes since the age of 8, piano since age 3,
and she's been singing forever! Starting out, Lee lived in a Gailic
community in Fairbanks, Alaska and became a professional musician at age
15.
Now, as a teacher, Lee wants students to turn music
into a lifestyle...to take it wherever they go, to listen to themselves,
and to sing along with the music they like.
Work on vocal improvisation, both interesting and
educational, can feature chanting and melismatic intonation. While Lee
is classically trained in voice, she teaches all styles and just really
wants students to be able to hold pitch and to express themselves in &
through music.
Lee is currently working on a DVD for BearPaw Flutes
,which also includes some storytelling, while looking to finish her
degree in Music Therapy and Pedagogy at Marylhurst University.
Music is therapy...work...a lifestyle!
