Music Bio
I have been performing for over 15 years in combos, large bands, choirs,
and solo. I am a third generation folk musician who was raised on music
- front-porch harmonica as well as popular and country radio. My wide
range of musical interest has led me to explore songwriting through the
ages and to study music theory and performance in a formal setting.
Through my continuing study of traditional and
classical music, as well as popular styles -early jazz, vaudeville,
singer-songwriter, classical and art-song, I have learned the musical
elements that define these genres. My breadth of knowledge is
demonstrated through hundreds of original compositions, my eclectic
collection of ‘cover-tunes,’ my ability to break down complex musical
ideas into simple, understandable concepts, as well as my performance
and stagecraft abilities. I have taught all ages, have a genuine love
for people, a lot of patience, and an unending passion for music.
Some Favorite Artists: Louis Armstrong, Duke
Ellington, Cab Calloway, Arthur Godfrey, Miles Davis, T-Bone Walker,
Howlin’ Wolf, Peter, Paul and Mary, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Pete
