I began playing the violin at age
three using the Suzuki Method. I switched to the viola in the sixth grade. I
attended Interlochen Arts Academy, majoring in Viola Performance, as well as
Oberlin College (graduated 2002). I moved to Portland in 2002. I have been
teaching violin and viola for three years in the Portland area. I am
contracted with My Smilin’ Violin and teach in various schools during the
day and after school as well as at home in my private studio.
I am a former member of the
Accidental String Quartet and perform in Portland often on my own as well as
in collaboration with local musicians. My teaching philosophy consists of
two major priorities: relaxed physical balance and positive mental attitude.
