I have a teaching certificate from Utah State University and 7 years experience in resource classrooms at elementary and secondary schools. My background in education has been a great asset. I frequently draw from it when I teach guitar.

I grew up in a musical household. Both of my parents taught music lessons, so music was an important part of our family life. I started taking guitar lessons from my dad at the age of 10. His careful, attentive approach to the instrument is something that I carry with me to this day. I have studied classical and fingerstyle guitar with Rene Berblinger for the last 7 years.

My step-by-step lesson structure makes the guitar accessible for the young beginner. My students learn technique, reading, theory, ear training, and performance. Above all else, I believe music should be fun and engaging.
