Beginning Ukulele – Level I -- 6-6:50
p.m. Level I, introduction to the ukulele, assumes the student has
little to no musical instrument background. Learn the fundamentals from
the ground up in a patient and fun environment. Melody, chord formation,
rhythm, and basic strums. Class limited to 5 students.
Beginning Ukulele Level II -- 7-7:50
p.m. This jam class is an opportunity for beginners to focus on becoming
more proficient at changing chords, developing rhythm, strumming and pic
patterns, and singing. We will start each class with ear and rhythm
training, and then apply our learning to songs currently being played at
PUA gatherings. Limited enrollment.
Intermediate Subjects: Chord Inversions
on the Ukulele -- 8-8:50 p.m. Want to spice up your playing? By applying
just a few chord “shapes,” this workshop will introduce you to second,
third and fourth position chord inversions of the common open chords you
already know. Give yourself a new musical challenge and the songs you
play new life. Particularly good for rag-time tunes and jazz standards.
Limited enrollment.
