OUR MUSICAL PARTNERS
Thanks to Portland's rich and
lively music scene, many musical organizations serve our community. Some of
the ones that we consider to be partners include:
MakeMusicPDX
If you have ever wondered what it would be
like to join with other recreational musicians, practice some songs, and
perform together on stage--MakeMusicPDX is the answer!
This wonderful
organization runs several 8-week sessions throughout the year; when you
register, the folks at Make MusicPDX match your interests with those of
other singers and musicians. Then they assign an experienced musical coach
to you, who helps prepare for the live concert.
Practice sessions occur once a week for seven
weeks and last 2 1/2 hours. At the end of this time, all of the groups
formed during the session will perform live on stage in front of family,
friends and other supportive listeners.
Artichoke
is proud to have this wonderful organization as a partner; in fact, its
offices are located right here at Artichoke Community Music.

Portland Songwriters Association
PSA
was established to provide
educational and networking opportunities for its membership, to develop the
songwriting talents of its members, and to support them in their quest to
become great songwriters. We are pleased to announce that Portland
Songwriters Association will be hosting their monthly showcase right here at
Artichoke beginning in October.

The Portland Ukulele Association
The PUA
is a frequent
partner with Artichoke in bringing great ukulele shows to Artichoke Cafe.
PUA meets the fourth Sunday of each month at
St. David's Episcopal Church, 2800 SE Harrison St.
Are you looking for a unique way to laugh and
play with others? Well, dig out that old ukulele from your attic or closet,
and join the Portland Ukulele Association (PUA).
